What is Alzheimer’s Disease Psychosis?

Over a third of people with Alzheimer’s disease will experience symptoms of psychosis1. These symptoms may include delusions (strong false or mistaken beliefs) or hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there). The likelihood of experiencing these symptoms increases over the course of the disease2 and they can be distressing for both individuals and families.

There are currently no approved treatments for psychosis caused by Alzheimer’s disease. New treatment options are needed to help people experiencing these debilitating symptoms.
